3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (6835) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 2, 2005
33 cl bottle. Pale yellow, slightly hazy beer with a thin white head. Light citrusy nose, faint hint of corander and a prominent lactic aroma. Body is quite thin and very tart. Sort of a cross between a wit and a berliner weisse. Tart sourness, lactic/citrus flavour with a touch of spice. Refreshing.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Belial (71) - BELGIUM - AUG 31, 2005
A basic white beer.
Very yellow and cloudy colour with a limited head that dissipates extremely fast. Citrus aroma on a quite sour flavour. Very fizzy and watery body. Not a lot of aftertaste.
A beer that could be drunk with a dessert or a sweet course. Feels good with dark bread too.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2005
Cloudy and pale yellow with a small white head. Looks like an old fashioned glass of Schweppes ’ginger beer’ I used to drink when I was a kid. A lot of yeast in the aroma. Slight citrus taste and a lot of cereals, but the overall feel is watery. Bit too much fizz. A rare Belgian disappointment.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MesandSim (7108) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2005
a sim rate:
(on tap)
This beer is always like an old friend and well-remembered as the beer that started us on this downwards (?) spiral into beer obsession. A brugs and Belgo rye bread. Like an old friend. A very mellow but otherwise standard white. Creamy lemons with a very slight hint of something sweet. Honey? smells strangely like cork. Seriously. Very much so and a bit bizarre.

25 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom. Very pale yellow colour with a creamy white head. Aroma of wheat and yeast. Good refreshing taste, but a little too light aftertaste, light body. Taste of corians and little citrus. An okey witbeer.

Yellow, small head. Weak wheat and citrus aroma. Watery, with faint notes of citrus. Thin and really no good.
