Bottle 25cl, a cloudy yellow beer with medium head. Nose is grainy with lemony touch. Aroma is on light wheat, orange notes, wet paper, grainy, very low body, touch of diacetyl at the finish, dusty hops. A very poor beer.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl à la brasserie, couleur blonde avec un trouble blanc, mousse moyenne et effervescence forte. Grosse attaque en début de bouche sur le pain blanc arrière goût banane, pas assez corpulente car ça tombe très vite.

Sampled on draught at the Café de Paris by the harbour in St.Tropez. Possibly the most expensive beer I have ever purchased, but I guess you are paying for the location and the view of all those 50m yachts. The beer is a hazy golden colour with a firm white head, and aromas of lemon and coriander. The taste is rich with flavours of dried citrus peel with spicy notes of cloves and coriander. Pleasantly refreshing bitterness from the hops. A good witbier with vivid flavours and plenty of character, but possibly lacking the subtlety of other Belgian brews. Highly drinkable.

It appears cloudy and yellow with a minimal white head. The aroma is bread, hay, wheat with some citrus. It has medium carbonation and a nice mouthfeel despite the low alcohol rate. Fruity sweet taste with bitter undertone. Fresh and enjoyable.

Classic Hoegaarden-style standard witbier since 1983, first made by Gouden Boom as Brugs Tarwebier / Blanche de Bruges, since 2003 made by Palm, which changed the named into simply ’Brugs’. Milky, snow white head over an ochre yellow blonde, misty beer; refreshing character of obviously sourish wheat, dried citrus peel and lots of coriander, a bit more so than in Hoegaarden Witbier. Sweetish bready malts are well balanced with sourish wheat and spices, soft and elegant mouthfeel; very thirst-quenching and a bit tastier than Hoegaarden but still a very stereotypical wit.
