From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Aroma is roasted breadish with a mild roasted malt note. Medium to dry roasted malt with a light caramel note showing through. Smooth and roasted finish with a light bitterness.

Bottle. [thank you, bierkoning]
Lovely looks. Chestnut brown, very clear. A big, frothy, yellowish head on top. Fair duration. Aroma is sweet, good maltiness, chocolate, raisins and yeast. Light bit of chestnut actually. Medium carbonation, fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has some light metal off-flavours, good dryness, lightly roasted, a bit of chocolate. Some hops and a dark chocolate finish. Very nice, as it settles.

Draught at Bokbierfestival 2008. Very dark brown colour, seems clear. Spicy flavour, some dark malts. Quite clean for a Belgian.

Tap @ BBF ’08. Clear dark reddish brown beer, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malts, some fruits. Flavour is soft and sweet, malty, caramel, some chocolate. Just a little bitterness in the finish. A better dubbel than their regular dubbel.

A dark brown colored beer, with a foamy beige head. The aroma of caramel, toffee, a little chocolate and fruits. The taste of fruits like peache, banana and apple with caramel malt. It’s bittersweet. The aftertaste of dark fruits and dry.

Dark brown colored. Sweet, fruity aroma. Fruity, apple flavor. Some roastenoticable. d malts, but hardly noticeble. Too fruity for a bock.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown color. Soft caramelaroma with some cellar notes. Thinnish caramelly sweet flavor with a hint of sulphur and mango. Initial roast. I’m not impressed, but this beer is not worse as the Dutch bocks is it competing with. 6 3 6 2 11 = 2.8 On a re-rate in oktober 2009 I have to boost the rating. Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malty sweetish flavor with roast and a hint of raision. Malt, cinnamon and pepper in the aroma.

Bubbly head, dark beige, receding over ruby-red to brown beer. Fruity, bubblegum nose, bit of English milkchocolate (the dreaded Cadburybars for the horseteeth girls kind). Sweet, very fruity, with banana, apricot, fruitdrops and bubblegum. Woody finish, liquorice. Slick, slightly sticky; medium to well-bodied. Sweet - even for a Bock (well, it isn’t one, seen it’s top-fermented). Sweeter, fruitier than the Dubbel Zot.
