33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Deep ruby, lots of floaters, thick beige head. Syrupy malty alcohol aroma, some boiled brown sugar on it, some Belgian yeast. In mouth, more estery yeast, some more kind of boiled in a saucepan toffee and malt. Finish has a bit of hop sting. More or less ok. I like the Brugse beers in general as they are pretty drinkable if not that exciting. Ok.

Bottled 330ml (Beer Planet, BB 08/2011)
Dark ruby color, steady beige head. Caramel, dried dark fruits, tart note and cardboard in the nose. Light to medium bodied. Active carbonation. Flavor is quite par to aroma: some caramel, balsamico, dark fruits. Almost watery. Uninspiring brew.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2011 Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An amber, clear beer topped by an off-white to beige head. Dried fruits, rum-soaked raisins and caramel on the nose. The mouthfeel is dry, full-bodied and a bit warm, with a slight papery touch. Caramel, dried fruits and malty sweetness in the flavor, low on bitterness. A pleasant beer. Rating: 6-4-7-4-13-3.4. 091024

Bottle, at De Heeren van Liedekercke. A slightly unclear one, with microfloaties and a brown body. Creamy head of finger size thickness, light beige in color. The aroma is quite hoppy, some roasted malts and caramel, and with a fruity and sweetish touch. Some grassy, peppery and piney hops. The flavor has some alcohol, but mostly it’s dried fruits and roasted malts. Bitterness, roasted malts and sweetness towards the end. A bit thin on the palate, but smooth and also slightly warming. Not much bock-like, didn’t expect that either, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 110501
