3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CanIHave4Beers (2512) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUN 22, 2012
On draught at Bhavani in Brugge.
Pours a hazy light orange color with a medium head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a little boozy but has a nice orange rind and spiciness.
The flavor is fruit forward and has a subtle spiciness. Some banana and orangepeel. The beer is a bit boozy when cold but this settles down as it warms.
The high carbonation serves the beer well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Metalchopz (1785) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2011
Originally rated March 2006. Bought at the Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Written DEC 2006 on plain golden bottle cap. Pours a cloudy blonde-caramel colour with a white foamy head and good retention. Kind of looks like a witbier. Lots of carbonation and lacing is sloppy all around the glass. The nose reminds me of a pilsner. After breathing a bit, the aromas turn to spices and yeast. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavours are also yeasty with some decent dry hoppy finish. Quite a refreshing brew and a nice mix between a witbier and a pilsner.

Brewery Tap, Bruges Pours golden amber with white head. Fruit notes in aroma. Moderate carbonation, medium body. Somewhat sweet with dry finish. In Belgian context, nothing special.
