3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pivo (2540) - - JAN 5, 2003
Corriander and fresh yeast nose. Pale blond gold color. Extremely fizzy pour that left a foamy head like sea foam. Orange sherbet effect on the palate with no noticeable bitterness. Very light and a thin body, but with a great deal of character, relatively speaking. Quality brew.

Draft@moderste: hazy amber with a white head, caramel, malts, slight biter hops, spices, some soap, slight yeast, some darker fruit, bit to soapy, bit wattery and oily
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2011
Originally rated March 2006. Bought at the Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Written DEC 2006 on plain golden bottle cap. Pours a cloudy blonde-caramel colour with a white foamy head and good retention. Kind of looks like a witbier. Lots of carbonation and lacing is sloppy all around the glass. The nose reminds me of a pilsner. After breathing a bit, the aromas turn to spices and yeast. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavours are also yeasty with some decent dry hoppy finish. Quite a refreshing brew and a nice mix between a witbier and a pilsner.

Brewery Tap, Bruges Pours golden amber with white head. Fruit notes in aroma. Moderate carbonation, medium body. Somewhat sweet with dry finish. In Belgian context, nothing special.

Bottle and served in my Ommegang Anno Tulip: Pours a slightly cloudy golden/light amber hue with a few floaties, small but lasting frothy head, okay lace. The aroma has notes of wheat husks, pils, biscuit, honey, some lemon, banana, and clove esters along with light herbal hops. The taste is rather mundane, grainy with light fruit and slice notes. Bubblegum and earthiness throughout. Hint of soapy notes along with very light bitterness. The mouth feel is lively but not all that refreshing. Just like the Leffe Blonde before it, rather forgettable but then I am not really sure how fresh this bottle is always.

This stuff is okay. Had better, had worst. Maybe I’m biased against most beers from Brugge.
