Perhaps it was the wrong glass, but there are much better Belgian Ales out there.

Erg lekker ietwat zoete tripel.

The forerunner of Brugge Tripel, to the original recipe, i.e. made with the original Gouden Boom yeast. Tasted this many times some ten years ago, from its own vase-shaped glass. It was a hazy orange blonde beer with thick and moussy, yellowish white head and fruity character, bready, soft and sweetish, caramelly, yeasty with a drying finish of herbal hop bitterness and some warming alcohol. This was quite a decent tripel and in my view better than the current version - or this may just be nostalgia, perhaps.

Bottle 0,33l. Pours a hazy deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet and slightly sour aroma with yeasty and fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, ripe fruits and yeasty notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mooi helder bier. Redelijke schuimkraag. Kruidig smaakje. Wel lekker maar niet apart. Brugge kent betere biertjes dan deze.

On tap at Centrum Hotel, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out crackery malts, Belgian yeast, and light floral notes. Flavour brings out a dry crackery and biscuity malt base, with lightly sweet cereal, Belgian yeast and slight floral accents. Very dry, with just a touch of sweetness from cereal malts. Very nice tripel.
