Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 13, 2009 Draft at De Halve Maan after the brewery tour. Pours a cloudy copper brown hue with a foamy, spongy tan head. Wet, spotty lacing dots the glass. The aroma comes across slightly boozy, showing a brown sugar malt base, with hints of dark raisin, clove, and nutmeg. Flavors follow suit, again big on brown sugar and mild dark fruits, spiced somewhat aggressively with candied orange peel and earthy, woody clove. There’s a hint of nuttiness in there as well. The spice element is intensified by lively carbonation, which gives a sharp edge to the moderate palate. Finishes semi-dry with a distinctly Belgian yeast profile. Solid brew. Parket (214), Bruges, Belgium Aug 17, 2009 bottle, chestnut coloured with beige/white head. Nice lacing beer! Smell: fruity, sweet, grainy. Taste: sweet, grainy, fruity, chestnuts, overripe fruit, caramel and yeasty. Nice Dubbel, but I’ve had better ones. (Bottle 33cl) SeanMacGC (233), Dublin, Ireland Jul 30, 2009 Bottle, 750ml. Pours dark ruby-amber, with none to little head. Round and typical dubbel aroma, and rounded on the palate too, of sweet malts, caramel with a hoppy tail. Medium carbonation, and decent enough dubbel overall. aru (105), Smørum, Denmark Jul 18, 2009 Pours a nice dark amber color with medium lasting light brown head. The aroma is rather fresh and light considering it is a dubbel. The taste is rather disappointing, with a thin palate and heavy on carbonate giving a acid touch to the aftertaste. Definitely there are much better dubbels out there JanEric (167), Meppel, Netherlands Jul 13, 2009 Tap. Small head, no special aromas or flavors. maybe some caramel. No long fi nish. Not a special brew
