Brown color, nice white/brownish head. It taste pretty simple; a bit of malt and a bit of hops. The carbonation is a bit too much in my taste.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2012 (750m corked l;) in a gift box..Ive not# rated anything seriously in months ...the odd ale here and trip to Belgium there ...this beer while good, is not giving me the passion to wax lyrical ..In a tulip its a lazy brown liquid ,with decent beige bubbley head ...AS I sip this Belgian the striking thing is the syrupy texture on the palate . I pick up bitter-sweet chocolate notes that seem married with caramel. some toasty burnt malts. ...suggestions of sage .orange . something rather musty and dank about the floral spice feel. This is a beer for tourists ...

Bottle at Huppel the Pub. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of fruit, herbs, malt, licorice and slightly metallic. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours dark brown. fizzy offwhite head which doesnt last. Fruit, toffee, plum, a little spice and molasses in the aroma. Sweet and spicy in the flavour. Lively enough carbonation, settles as you drink it. Slick on the palate. Finish is more lush dark fruits. Nice.

33cl bottle. Pours brownish with a small light-tan head. Medium carbonation. Taste is nuts, fruits...and caramel (I think). Definitely one of the best Belgian Dubbles I’ve had. I’d still prefer a Westmalle Dubbel, but this is very good too.

Pours a dark Chestnut with a large tan head, aroma is red berries, there's a sharp metallic edge to it. Taste is sweet, herby, still that metallic Edge thought, nice enough

Bottle at The Fiddler, Den Haag. Pours a dark mahogany colour with a thin tan head. The aroma isn't so pleasant. It's spicy and bitter but doughy and a little bit stale too.The flavour is malt and liquorice and some more liquorice on the palate. A tasty beer for sure and one to taste in Bruges, but not a favourite of mine.
