Brugse Zot Dubbel is a dark brown beer, inclining towards ruby red. It is brewed with six special varieties of malt, which give the beer a rich and distrinctive aroma. One can discover the scent of honey, almonds, chocolate and brown sugar. By using the Czech Saaz hop from Zatec, the beer has a complex palate of roasted malts and a distrinctive flavour. Brugse Zot Dubbel is known to leave a warm glow in the mouth with a bitter and hoppy finish, leaning towards liquorice and coffee roast. Bottle conditioned.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, Saaz hops, yeast.

On tap - dark brown with thin off white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is toasted and bread malt, caramel, with faint fruit and earthy notes. Flavour is heavy malt and light hops. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.

With a roasted nutty aroma and a dark brown appearance with a small foamy head this dubbel is a treat. The flavor is sharp on the tongue and lingers on the palate. The hints of the roasted nuts that you small are very apparent and enjoyable!

large creamy frothy head light brown. excellent lacing. mostly lasting. flat thick dark amberish-brown body. aroma: alcohol, wood, citrus lemon, moderate malty. if and ff: moderate sweet light bitter. palate: light body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic light alcoholic finish.

Two finger foam. Dark clear brown. Toast coffee notes. Dry creamy taste. Food body. Long finish. Little too much sweetness in the general balance.

A dark amber pour with a khaki head. Very metallic and off-putting aroma. Tons of prune juice, some toasted malt, a hint of roast, and dark fruit sweetness. A bit of spice and yeast, too. The flavor is quite metallic as well. Very heavy on the roast and prune notes, which is not pleasing either. A bit of cocoa, some mild clove spiciness, and some toasted bread.

Dark brown with a little white foam. A little bland flavor. a little stale and lacking fullness, however fine aftertaste from the Belgian yeast.

Tried on draft in unfiltered version at the brwery. looks like a dark ale should, lovely sulphur cream head. Begian character to the smell, along with red berries, malt, caramel. Very smooth malty fruit flavour with red winegums, just right balance of sweetness, very satisfying and drinkeable. No aftertaste I can remember. Not as memorable a beer as the blonde.

Bottle. Deep ruby body, large foamy off-white head retention. Aroma is Belgian ale yeast, red berries, some grainy notes and hints of eggnog, surprisingly. :-) Taste is grainy raisiny notes, caramel, hints of grass and red berries. Full body, fiery carbonation. Quite nice.
