3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33cl. A brown ale with small head that remains properly. Smell is very nice on roasted notes and spices such as cloves and anise. Aroma is on brown malt, sugar and yeast that gives a small sourness, quite creamy, small acidity but properly encapsulated in a nice body with a coffee finish. Notes of dry grapes, plums, alcohol us properly hidden, aftertaste is medium to long with a dry roasted finish. Good beer, a quite complex dubbel.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home. Deep brown pour, reddish glow, large dense light brown head.
Huge caramel aroma with malt, fruits, spices and yeast. Hint of molasses.
Flavour is mildly bitter, lightly sweet with lot’s of spices.
Caramel, malts and fruits dominate the sweetness, molasses and spices the bitterness. Not bad but a bit weird.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught on a guest tap in Alkmaar, North Netherlands. Quite dark brown, with a thick beige head. The aroma is of herbs and chocolate. The taste is more of coffee and even tobacco. Kind of short finish compared to the big taste.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pretty dark brown. Beige head, not big enough, disappears almost like pouring out soda... Sour-fruity-bread smell, same with the taste. What a disapointment, expected so much more from this one!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (in NZ). Pretty lively this side of the world. A peppery spiced malty nose, slightly medicinal. Medicinal follow through on the palate, some coffee notes to the very rich malt. The mouthfeel is just lacking a little - a touch thin. But there is plenty of peppery and spunk in this bad boy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the brewpub. Lovely brown, a little hazy.
Clean flavour, roasted grain, nice hoppy finish. Fruity aroma.
