Drank from a 11.2 oz bottle in Brugge. Head- big white head, sticks around for awhile. This is much better than the Zot blonde, but not a great Belgian beer by any means.

On draught (and unfiltered) at the brewery tap in Bruges. A ruby-brown beer with yeast sediments and a firm beige head that lasts. Healthy aromas of roasted caramel malts and yeasts. Medium bodied with a good sweetish malt base and a gentle hop bitterness to the finish. I like the restrained sweetness. A good easy drinking Dubbel.

Pours quiet a firm head. Fairly carbonated. Subtle mix of small candy sweet and hop bitters with some fresh and sour on the side. A fine dubbel for many occasions.

[2001-20090217] 330mL bottle. Grainy wet malt aroma. Hazy, dark mahogany red body with a big long-lasting foamy tan head. Yeasty grains flavour has old malt and a lingering fruitiness. Medium body. Mild, nice.

Nice foamy head, light sugary aroma... Not too aromatic, flavor was a lot less sweet than most of the dubbels I’ve had, didn’t taste like the 7.5% it advertises, very little residual sweetness on the palate, underwhelming, no a very impressive start to my Belgium trip, still very drinkable

Dark brown colour with a large, creamy beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle picked up in Brugge. Dark brown with a beige head, the aroma is of treacle and malt and a little yeast, a sweetish spicy flavour with vinous notes becomes drier and then gives way to a slight sourness. The aftertaste is a dry roasty malt with hoppy bitterness.

2009-02-17. Dark brown body with a good sized foamy beige head. Sweet aroma of malt has a dusty character to it, light tang to the malt, muted notes of yeast and florals. Flavour is sweet up front, modest yet rich dark malts with hints at caramel and sugars, dark fruit in the middle has a touch of alcohol to it, and finishes slightly more dry than it starts. Smooth average plus bodied palate. (3+) Fairly simple and straightforward by Belgian standards but its pleasant and very drinkable. Bottle from Bier Tempel, Bruges

Bottle that came courtesy of Reluctant Scooper and Beer Merchants following a competition I entered, consumed 15-02-09 Many thanks to Simon (Haddonsman) and Phil L Pours a very murky brown with large off white head. Some sweetness and also a touch of sourness on the nose. Taste is fruity, malty, some dark candy sugars, but to be honest a little bit boring unfortunately. A5 A3 F6 P3 OV12 2.9

Bottle. Dark brown to ruby beer. Pours with a big, cloudy and thick/foamy head. The aroma is dark and malty. It has dark and sweetish fruitness. The finish is slghtly hopped. Some spices heve been uswd, at least coriander. The flavor is sweetish, a bit caramelly and fruity but it dries toward the finish. Alcohol is present in the finish. The finish is a bit thin and there´s something metallic in it. The palate is carbonated and foaming but it gets better when shaken and disturbed a bit. It is a bit thin and not the freshest beer. Still it´s quite drinkable.
