Btl at The Occidental Belgian Beer Cafe. Clear red-brown pour with a creamy, off-white head leaving light lace. Medium-light body with champagne-like carbonation. Apricots, candy, toast, cherries, not too much ethanol. Lingering, malty sweetness. Pretty average dubbel, bettered by Chimay Rouge.

Aroma y cuerpo ideal, un poco de exceso de espuma pero bastante rica. Deja un amargor agradable al final. Cerveza recomendable pero no indispensable.

RafeAU (330) - Kingston, AUSTRALIA - MAY 23, 2015
Tasting at Plonk. Highly carbonated, pour had massive bubbly head, brown with a hint of red. Flavour has sweet stewed fruit and little bitterness. Quite nice but not very complex.

Coppery brown with opaque liquid. The Beige Cream is high, fluffy and lasting training. Its Carbonation is the high average. The aroma suggests hints of oak, toffee caramel, bread, light yeast Belgian, roasted malt, berries, but metallic aroma arises in excess giving a feeling of extreme acidity. Taste is relatively sweet emerging dried fruit on the palate, bread, toffee and a low bitterness. Alcohol is noticeable. Proved to be very acidic and metallic. Your effervescent body and medium bodied brings a soft texture finishing with a faintly smoky taste a malted and roasted bitterness, but slightly sweet. This Metallic tone in the aroma and flavor clashes and ask very harmonization, in my eyes of course. The aftertaste is slightly pulled by wheat and roasted malt. Honestly did not meet my expectations of 4 times I could taste. An honest beer in my view.

Muy equilibrada aunque escorada hacia lo dulce pero fresca por la marcada carbonatacion. Perfil aromático muy atractivo: pera, fresa, flores...

02-15-2015 - A very funny bottle, not a bad beer, but I liked the original Brugse ZOt better.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Beermerchants. Pours clear auburn with a big, dense beige foam head. The nose holds some ripening berries, mild Belgian yeast, brown bread, candi sugar, light toffee. Medium sweet flavor with some toasty bread, dried fruits, berries, low bitterness, dry toffee. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Moderate sweetness on the finish, further dried fruits, raisins, berries, toasted grains and bread, hints of earth and leather, nips of yeast. A pretty solid entry level dubbel. Not much depth but it’s very drinkable.

33cl bottle. When poured in a trappist glass, this beer has the perfect looks. A brownish body and a yellow, brown head on the top. The thick foam lasts for a few minutes and makes for a tasteful appearance. A darkred gloom colours the sides. The aroma hints for suger, oak and a touch of sherry and caramel. It even reminds of the Westmalle Dubbel beer. Sadly enough, the taste doesn’t match the great expectations. Though it has more mouth than the blond Brugse Zot, this dark beer has unpleasant water notes on the tongue. For the finish is more tasteful with a beautiful alcohol throat, I do rate this Brugse Zot Dubbel above average.
