On tap at De Halve Maan. Dark brown colour with a nice lasting head. Aroma and taste of dark fruits, sugar and raisin. Good beer.

Draught @ Huyze Die Maene, Brugge. Has a crisp malty-sweet aroma and taste. As close to a Belgian session ale as it gets.

Nice, warm double. Liked the Brugse Zotte so tried this one as well, wasn't disappointed. Nice color, good strong taste.

Lasting creamy yellowish head atop a clear bronze coloured body. Nose of figs and alcohol. The flavour is rather bland, some lifeless Belgian yeast with a syrupy malt makes this beer not stand out.

Tap @ C4. Unclear amber body with a large offwhite head. Caramel, malt, metallic notes. Nothing spectacular.

Bottle @ Craenenburg, Brugge. Pours clear dark ruby / copper brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with fruity and estery notes, complemented by bitter touches of hops. Bitter, slightly nutty aftertaste with touches of yeast. Decent.

On nitro tap at the Porter Bar (ATL). Served in Brugse Zot stemware. Dark fruit and a hint of wood in the nose. Flavor. Rich and complex. Mostly dark fruits and light spices. Sweet and bitter in about equal measure with a subtle tartness too. O: nearly on par with Westmalle?

330ml bottle served in a shifter glass. A: Pours a beautiful deep amber clear color forming a big yellow to beige head. Good retention and some spotty lacings left. A thin layer remains for long time on the top S: Sweet, fruity and spicy. Dark fruits, mint, black pepper and caramel. Bready Belgian yeasts T: Follows the nose. A sweet fruity a candy sugar upfront followed by notes of caramel malts, black pepper, earthly yeasts. Mild pleasant hoppy bitterness in the end M: Medium molasses body with good carbonation. Grainy and slightly bitter aftertaste O: Easy drinking beer. Strong Belgian character. Recommended [ BA Review @ 11/30/2012 ]

Decent beer. Definitely better in bruges ... Brown in appearance with a heavy head. Think taste with Carmel flavor

At the brewery in Brugge after the canal tour. Nice, hazy brown with large head (tan). Aroma of subtle malt, cracker and melonoidin. Taste is restrained and thin. Lacks the complexity that i love in a dubbel.

AT the brewery; pours a brownish/amber color. Not alot from the aroma. Taste was somewhat sweet, though the alcohol definitely came through on this one. Overall, an OK beer but not nearly there best
