goozen (840), Leiden, Netherlands Dec 30, 2006 Another one from the Halve Maan, A nice brown dubbel beer with caramel, bitter taste and some corbonation onthe tongue. Wolfenstein (96), Sarasota, Florida, USA Jun 28, 2007 On tap in the brewery in Brugge (It’s amazing how much brewery fresh beer tastes). Nutty receding head with some hints of caramel and roasted malt. I found it better than the blonde offering. JoeMcPhee (4061), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 31, 2007 Tap at t’Biertje Brugge. Dark brown creamy tan head. Very malty aroma, earthy and slightly molassesy. Dark plummy malt but also some light vineous fruitiness behind it. Cherry, plums, and raspberry. Earthy and fruity. Well-balanced, easy-drinking dubbel. Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 13, 2008 Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits as well as a light touch of cinnamon. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits, as well as a light note of metal, leading to a dry bitter finish. Skinnyviking (3023), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 5, 2007 Bottle. High and lasting creamy off-white head. Clear dark brown body. Caramel cocoa aroma with notes of raspberry. Flavor dominated by cocoa and vanilla. Nice and sweet without being too much of a good thing.
