On tap in the brewery in Brugge (It’s amazing how much brewery fresh beer tastes). Nutty receding head with some hints of caramel and roasted malt. I found it better than the blonde offering.

Nice brown color, could have been a little darker. Normal smell and good taste. Palate very good. ABV prefect for this beer.

Tap at t’Biertje Brugge. Dark brown creamy tan head. Very malty aroma, earthy and slightly molassesy. Dark plummy malt but also some light vineous fruitiness behind it. Cherry, plums, and raspberry. Earthy and fruity. Well-balanced, easy-drinking dubbel.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits as well as a light touch of cinnamon. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits, as well as a light note of metal, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottle. High and lasting creamy off-white head. Clear dark brown body. Caramel cocoa aroma with notes of raspberry. Flavor dominated by cocoa and vanilla. Nice and sweet without being too much of a good thing.

This was one of my favorite beers for a long time. Then i started tasting more beers and this one fell down in score a few steps. Still it’s a very nice dark beer. Caramel and nuts in taste.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a strongish head. The aroma is rich dark fruits with a deep kick of spice. The flavour is fruity, malty, spiced, and vinous at the finish. Overall a nice beer.
