With a roasted nutty aroma and a dark brown appearance with a small foamy head this dubbel is a treat. The flavor is sharp on the tongue and lingers on the palate. The hints of the roasted nuts that you small are very apparent and enjoyable!

Not very impressed. It’s kinda bland and boring. There is some hint of dried fruits with caramel and nuts, but very faint. Has a mild sweetness to it.

On tap at the brewery in Brugge. Poured redbrown with a nice white head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar. Some earthy notes too. Finishes a little sweet.

Pours a dark, hazy brown with a decent, non-lacing head. Complex aroma of apples, leather, earth, dark cherries, and raisins. Earthy, taste with subtle sweetness and a hint of sourness as well. Hops come thru towards the end. Finishes with a winelike character. Creamy and full on the palate.

Large 750cl bottle shared with the loving wife. Actually if she loved me more she would have let me drink the lot :-) She enjoyed it too much so I’ll have to get another couple of bottles and hide them. Great warming chocolate, toast, aroma. Rich and brooding, black, hazy, and very frothy. Sweet and acceptably so.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE Sept 2014, at Leijuva Lahna, 20130220) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, Belgian style yeast, liquorice and caramell. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, Belgian style yeast, liquorice and bitterness. Afteraste was sweet, yeasty and bitter. Too sweet and thin to be really good but still decent dubbel.

Bottled, 0.33l. Hazy dark brown color with large frothy brownish head, no distinctive lacing, but remains a lot of yeast residue. Aroma of caramel malt, strawberries, cherries and spicy hops. Taste starts sour fruity with some raspberry, too. Then followed by spicy malt, which is substantially present in the aftertaste, too. Alcohol is well hidden, hops, apparently are hidden, too. Full body, sticky texture and fizzy natural carbonation in palate. A bit disappointing, expected much more...

Bottle. Pours opaque dark brown with a frothy light tan head. Cookie, spices, dust and a little fruity sourness, like cherry, in the nose. As the beer warmed up it got some burnt sugar aroma too. Tastes sweet and yeasty with some bitterness remaibs. Full body, delicate carbonation and a delicate sweet finish. Not bad at all, especially since its best before dates to October 2012.
