2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
A dark amber pour with a khaki head. Very metallic and off-putting aroma. Tons of prune juice, some toasted malt, a hint of roast, and dark fruit sweetness. A bit of spice and yeast, too. The flavor is quite metallic as well. Very heavy on the roast and prune notes, which is not pleasing either. A bit of cocoa, some mild clove spiciness, and some toasted bread.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deze dubbel heeft een geur van rijp fruit (banaan, ananas). De smaak kenmerkt zich door gebrande mout, waardoor een zweem van koffie ontstaat. Verder is er een zoete laag in het bier aanwezig. Mooie schuimlaag.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich aromas of malt, dark chocolate and caramel. The taste is soft and round, filled with malted notes of hard toasted character on a bed of dark bitter chocolate, good caramel and a depth where a little licorice can be found. It has a sweetness that is usual for a Belgian dubbel, but it does not have the sticky sweetness as many others of the same type can have. This dubbel has a sporadic marked sweetness, which also provides room for the slightly hoppy bitterness where also raisin and some other fruit gets space.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl botlle bought at the brewery. Pours clear, dark ruby with a large, lasting, tanned head. Malty aroma with quite dominating fruity notes, dark dried fruits, hints of banana, ripe red berries, caramel, herbs and hints of roasted malt. Fairly sweet, quite flavourful, but rather balanced with a nice bitterness in the finish. Tasty and quite enjoyable.
