Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Slight malt taste leading to a bitter finish with yeast on the palate, not as good as I remembered it to be

Have never been too impressed by this brewery. Not bad but it lacks aroma in my opinion.

Looks like a heavy lager, clear except for the dead sediment. Head is a fine foam. Smells cidery and yeasty, though not overtly so. Hint of citrus, too. Taste is mainly sweet. Dry finish with no particular after taste. Not worth it’s price point, at least in this part of the world. Palm ale is better than this in its stylistic medium.

Bottle to snifter. Pours clear bright orange with a quick white soapy head that fades to a soapy collar. Aroma is sweet sugar and lemon grass and malt. Taste is lemon citrus and slightly bitter with some malt. Palate is thin with plenty of carbonation and finishes fizzy and dry.
