Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Lowlander Oct ’07. Pours golden with small, quickly fading head. Taste is syrup, honey, hops with a spicy bitter aftertaste. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, slight smoke. Drinkable but not amazing.

Clear straw color of buddylight. Huge 4" head took a few minutes to settle. Spicy herbal tart smell. Medium body. Lightly sweet taste of corn, biscuity malts with a clean crisp finish. 123106

I had the oppurtunity to sample the beer at the brewery in Brugge served traditonal style with a twist of lime. Better fresh brewed than in the bottle. The blond has a robust flavor much sharper than one wold expect. sweet aftertaste. smooth soft carbonation with a medium body,

Pours a hazy gold with a generous white head. Smells of straw, meadows, some citrus, hints of grapes. Tastes dry with an underlying orange hint. Mouthfeel is full with a hint of sugar on the finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr/Ungstrup. Clear, golden with a tall, dense, white head that leaves some laces. Fresh and lightly floral aroma. Medium-bodied with lightly sweet malts and some fruitiness. Weak notes of yeast. No bitterness. Very quaffable. 120108

Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Large fin egg-white head that mostly lasted. Clear flat looking body with a pale yellow color. Aroma of light grainy and dusty notes. Hint of fruit and citrus. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and hint of bitter flavor. Sweet fruity finish.
