Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Amber of color with a white head. An aroma of spice, sweets and notes of fruits. A flavor of sweets, spice, toffee and a bitter finish.

Impression: Rich malty + light fruit flavor belies its relatively low alcohol content. Pours deep golden/brown with an abundant head. As simple generic Belgian ale -- this beer is above average in complexity and in my opinion ranks highly amongst its style mates. would make a near perfect session beer.

Pours a hazed straw gold with a bright white head that does not stick around. Nose is like soap and light yeast. Flavor is sweet and smooth with a fruity tone to it. Strong sweet character. I really like the mouthfeel on this one. At first the carbonation was so alive that bubbles were bouncing on my tongue. Very drinkable. An easily sessionable beer...if not for the price.

This has a fresh, sharp taste. The body is very thin and watery. It’s a beer which is easy to drink but just lacks a full flavour.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a clear pale golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was dry, musty and lightly tangy. The flavor was dryish, lightly tangy, a bit bready and had hints of citrus. Overall fairly bland an uninspired.

unfiltered version on draught at the brewery. pours slightly cloudy golden with small white head. nose has wet grains with touch of coriander. flavor is crisp with slight dms, mildly bitter, corn sugar, hops with citrus notes, sliught coriander, bready. mouth feel is very watery. pretty bland but has more life than their dubbel. slightly sweet and unbalanced.

Have had both in bottle and at the brewery. A fairly decent ale. Unlike the classic Belgians, it doesn’t hit you the same way because it is not remarkable. Still, it’s good enough that we bought a couple glasses.

Have it on tap in De Halve Mann, After visiting the brewery we had our belgium style meat with lovely ale. Dark Portugal colour, Easy driing and having amberish and fruity scent at first. Finish is not to much such a Nice beer.
