Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Medium yellow color - clear and bubbly with a fairly dense head. Aroma is slightly spicy with notes of cloves, fruit and straw. Flavor is clean and sweet, with some slight fruity tartness at the end. Also it is slightly acidic. Pretty good beer.

Had at sharp edge in pittsburgh. Poured dark yellow from the bottle with bubbly fizzy thin white head. Aroma and flavor both light and grassy with some malt heaviness but little else in way of flavor. Pretty plain, especially for the price.

Hazy yellow gold hue, with a frothy white head, yeasty, fruity nose of ripe apples, with a subtle citrus flowery hop, with some honeyed, and faint vanilla notes, with a sweet pale malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a spritzy, yeasty, citrusy, character, with a nice stewed apples and lemon accent, a mild flowery hop note, good carbonation, leading towards a light dry finish.

0.33 l bottle. Copper color with thick fluffy head. Malt, herbal hops, some fruitiness and some clove in the aroma. Mainly malty flavor with some clovey spiciness. Very fizzy palate.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong fizzy white head. The aroma is lightly yeasty and bubble gum, and the flavour is very much like banana bubble gum and slightly bitterly spiced. Overall an average beer.

Pours a darker golden color with a white head. Aroma is of floral notes, citrus, lemon, sweet malts, and yeast. Flavor is a little light with citrus and lemon up front that give way to the sweet malts and yeast. Not very much of a lingering flavor. Not really that great. Dissapointed in this brew especially for the price.

Source: The Belgian Shop. Expirey 2009. Immediate horse blanket that of course overwhelms taste. Lots of creamy foam, and some sweet yeast. Nothing exceptional, in fact one of the few Belgians I would not recommend.

On draft at the brewery in Brugge. Golden, delicious, refreshing and malty.
