Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Draft. Golden in color - really nice mouthfeel, but a pretty standard belgian blond. Nothing too special except for being very balanced. Flavor dominated by yeast, lemon, clove. Not bad, but not something I would recommend.

Golden color, large head. The aroma is kinda yeasty, kinda hoppy. The taste is very lager like, but kinda like a wheat beer too. A bit hard to tell. The palate is kinda harsh. It’s alright, I guess. Maybe I just had too high of an expectation since it’s a Belgian beer.

On tap at the Halve Maan brewery. Cool place, for a tourist trap. Golden beer has a decent white head and golden color. Aroma and flavor are malty for a blonde. Also a touch sweet, but mostly wet and bland with a clean finish. Not much going on here. Not bad, not good, but I enjoyed the brewery tour.

(bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized, diminishing, off-white frothy head. Sweet and slightly sour citrus-fruity nose with a restrained malt-character. Moderately sweet flavour with sour-fruity aspects, medium bodied, lively carbonated mouthfeel. Bitter-sweet and tart, ascorbic finish.

Clear pale body with small white head. Aroma is honey, herbal and grassy hops. Flavor is honey, herbal with some light fruits. Medium/light body with soft, tight carbonation and a slightly bitter end.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with big white head, lots of carbonation, and lots of floaties... a lot of action in the glass, really. The aroma is clove, some banana, and crackers. The flavor is some yeasty clove and banana, light honey, and a bitter tone like nut shells. Hints of zest once in a while. Mild banana aftertaste. Ok, nothing special.

Bottle. A golden orange color with a white head. The aroma has pepper, spices and sweet candy. A spritzy, citrus, candy, bubblegum and banana flavor.
