COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

La birra si presenta con un piacevole aroma fruttato e floreale. Schiuma con bolle legger, ente grosse e colore giallo carico. In bocca è discretamente bilanciata ma esageratamente frizzante dandole un finale secco e molto corto.

Bottle at home. Slightly cloudy, golden colour. Earthy hops blend with a sweetish, bubblegum flavour that is subtle enough to be moreish. Quite dry finish and head remains throughout.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Look: hazy amber with a big off-white creamy head with good retention. Aroma: delicate perfume, fruit, sweet citrus (tangerine?), dusty. Taste: again, perfume, sweet citrus, quite dry, light bitter and metallic finish. Drinkable body without those Belgian spicy alcohols.

Bottle. Pours a golden hazy beer with big white head. Aroma is malt and yeast. Not much else. Taste is a bit spicy and sweet, little hops for a blond. Ok but a bit bland.

Decent Belgian ale, but lacking the complexity to make it great. Flavour is lacking hop depth, or yeast intensity.

Small bottle. Pours deep gold, fluffy white head. Nose is orange, pear, soft spicy malt character. Flavour has lots of pear, spices are in the background. Light smooth peppery palate that I always love in these Belgian Pales. Wish something like this was available in six packs around here.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2014 Bottle. Pours a nice golden honey volor, very generous foam head. Aromas are really strong and fresh. Fruity, tangerines and blood oranges, hint of pines. Very enjoyable. Fruity taste, relatively light and refreshing drink. Hint of nutmeg. Little aftertaste. Distantly reminds of Karmeliet mixed with regular Chouffe. Not bad.

Pours a hazy golden color, topped with a decent white head. There is a weak malty aroma, aided by some yeasty smell too. The taste is between bitter and sweet, finishing with a slight spicey feel. A very decent beer.

Very fruity and light aroma. Appealing appearance. Slight bubbles and golden amber with a good head. Good well rounded taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer is a hazy, light golden color. Head quickly dissipates to thick lacing. Aroma is apple sweetness. Flavor is sweet with a tangy or sour component, ultimately quenching. Similar tartness to a Flemish Red. From notes taken at Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan, June 7 2007.
