Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Firm white head, yellow golden poor. Slight sweet and sour, not very much hop taste but nice. Some fruit, citrus and spice tones. Fine beer.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml from BEERmerchants of Kent. Gold with white head and chunks of yeast. Initially quite citrusy, orange, zesty but then in comes a spiced note to overwhelm the delicate hop. The spiced flavour affects the rest of the beer and knocks it back for me. It’s still pretty drinkable but you wish for more of the initial taste.

Bottle, 33cl. It pours a hazy, golden body with lots of yeast chunks, and a finger-thick off-white head. Fruity, citrusy nose with hints of wheat malt and some spicyness. Citrusy flavor, mostly orange, with coriander as well. Soapy, slightly sourish mouthfeel, medium full. Fruity finish. Sure, it’s drinkable and decent, but it’s slightly unappetizing and a bit challenging to drink. A small glass is enough. (090522)

Bottle. A fruity aroma, some yeast, light sweet and later on light sour. The head is small, white and milky with a normal duration. The body is yellow and light cloudy. The taste is a mixture between sour and bitter, the finish is light metallic. The carbonation is lively, the body is rather light and the texture is light creamy and lively.
