Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

On tap. Slightly hazy brown pour with a tiny white head. Musty, yeasty aroma. Flavor is slightly sour, tangy malt. Buttery mouthfeel with a cask-like smoothness. Very good.

On tap at the Chicken In in Brugge, Belgium. Great restaurant too! Pours in a hazy yellow color. Frothy head that disolves fast. A bit like an IPA with some hops but not as intense. Mix a lighter IPA and the typical Belgian Ales and you’ve got this guy.

Bottle. Thick foamy head. Aroma has something like banana. Also the taste of bananas. A little bit too sweet. Finish: small bitterness, not long-lasting. Neutral.

750 mml corked and caged bottle:
Appearance: Pours orange with a mid sized head. Loads of sediment
Aroma: Modest aroma of winter apples and marzipan.
Flavour: Modest fruitiness; pears and bananas.
Palate: Dry and yeasty, somewhat thin with a slight alcohol burn.
Overall: No surprises here; a typical Belgian Blond Ale.

Hazy colored gold beer with a tiny head. Very fizzy. Flavor is quite sweetish, disappears quite rapidly but has a nice long cottonmouth feel to it. Palate is linear to the first sweetish taste, no distinguishable other tastes. Overall a nice beer, but nothing all too complicated.

330 ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma is light fruity and spicy. The flavor is light, refreshing malty with a spicy and fruity touch. Medium body and rather short finish. Drinkable but a bit anonymous and ordinary for my liking.
