3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Golden beer with a strong fizzy white head. The aroma is lightly yeasty and bubble gum, and the flavour is very much like banana bubble gum and slightly bitterly spiced. Overall an average beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a darker golden color with a white head. Aroma is of floral notes, citrus, lemon, sweet malts, and yeast. Flavor is a little light with citrus and lemon up front that give way to the sweet malts and yeast. Not very much of a lingering flavor. Not really that great. Dissapointed in this brew especially for the price.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Source: The Belgian Shop. Expirey 2009. Immediate horse blanket that of course overwhelms taste. Lots of creamy foam, and some sweet yeast. Nothing exceptional, in fact one of the few Belgians I would not recommend.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, at Zot Restaurant, Philadelphia. golden amber, with a moderate sized off-white head that declined fairly quickly. Aroma of wheat, yeast, and citrus. Nicely balanced flavor; yeast, herbs, anise, citrus, malt and floral flavors complement each other very well. tasty and refreshing.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, a clear amber with a large foamy white head. A light aroma, a bit sour. Some malt characters, but quite astringent, smoothness in the dry finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
In the 330 mL bottle from John’s Grocery. Pours a dark golden amber color with an enormous number of floating yeast colonies moving perpetually up and down with the egress of the carbonation bubbles. The off-white colored boisterous head is barely contained within the tulip glass. The aroma is a bit mystifying to me: I can’t quite get any subtle scents other than a toffee-like and medicinal aroma underneath all the yeast. The flavor would benefit from less carbonation that pushes the beer in your mouth much like a bromoseltzer. You can tell that it has the right malt intensity, but it just has trouble finding its place with the carbonics.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330mL, best by Feb 09. Golden-colored with quarter-inch yeast chunks motoring about, and a humongous head that settles to a lasting foam ring. Aroma is honey, malt, grapes, apples and alcohol. Flavor is bubblegum and malt on front with an undercurrent of dry tingly hops and yeast. Finish brings in the dryish fruit and alcohol notes. Palate is light-medium and tingly. The alcohol seems pretty noticeable for 6% and I usually don’t like that, but it seems to provide some nice flavor balancing for this beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a five-finger+ white pillowy head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Murky cloudy amber color with a lot of chunky bits. Slight spicy/grapefruit nose. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is spicy and slightly sour. Clean finish. $4.39 for a 330ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
