Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Draught @ the brewery. Hazy orange to yellow beer with a large white head. The aroma is quite hoppy and spicy. Coriander and orange peel are quite obvious, also some dried fruits in the finish. The flavor is mellow, medium bitter and it has some sweetness on dried fruits, The palate is very smooth, soft and medium bodied. Very easy to drink.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a yellow color with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus and yeast. Flavor is alright, but there are too many floaties in the beer for my taste.

Nothing spectacular but widely available. Refreshing belgium blonde, but not the best out there.

Although it’s nothing spectacular compared with other Belgian ales, I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Pours nicely with a thick head and I like the suspended particles...it gives the beer a certain uniqueness or identity. The taste was smooth with subtle notes of lemon and not overly bitter.

Pours a gold color with a ton of suspended yeast, and a thin white head. Aroma of citrus and yeast. Taste of citrus (orange, lemon), and some light spices (coriander). Not a big fan of beers with a lot of suspended sediment - probably won’t try this one again.

Had this one at Restaurant Olivier in Utrecht. Really hides the alcolhol well, nice combination of bitterness and lemon taste.

Draught at Belgo, London
Blond color. The aroma is lightly fruity and well spicy (coriander). Dry mouthfeel, some malt, a lot of coriander and a strange bublegum aftertaste. Nothing special.
