Wim (1278), Turnhout, Belgium Dec 12, 2008 gold blond coloured sparkling body with a white head a yeasty citrus aroma a yeasty citrus hoppy bitter taste with a spicy bitter finish Burrobuns (80), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pretty disappointed. Tap in tulip glass. Nose is yeast and citrus. Taste is citrus, spice, some floral notes. Not much flavor, though. Everything seemed muted. I was unhappy and unsatisfied. Straling (185), Heerlen, Netherlands Nov 20, 2008 On Tap.
Pours a clear yellow/orange colour with good carbonation and a small size head.
Can smell citrusfruits and spices there, mainly th citrusfruits though.
Taste is also lemony and some other citrusfruits. Also there is some hops there and has a nice bitter taste.
Goes down well, can’t taste any of the alcohol. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2008 The most noticeable thing about this pour is the huge and numerous pieces of suspended yeast. It is a golden beer with a white head that, while not large, has good retention. The aroma is yeast and spice. Flavor is peppery spice, soapy, earthy, grainy, buttery. Plenty of zest lights up the tongue. The yeast remained suspended throughout the glass never settling at all. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Nov 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a gold color with a medium-sized white head. Smells of yeast, spice, and pepper. Taste is herbal with citrus and pepper characteristics as well. It’s solid, but nothing really stands out about it. BillKismet (1897), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 26, 2008 Golden colored with decent spread of foam. Sweet, piquant pepper, and light yeast notes initially waft from the glass followed by light grainy malt. Flavor is rather unimpressive, but easy drinking. Herbal, light lemony character with a touch of hot pepper spice. Carbonated and lively body that pricks the tongue. Sprightly. A solid spring-time brew. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 25, 2008 A golden ale with a thick white head. A rather sweet floral aroma, with strong phenolics and bananas. In mouth, a sweet fruity sugar taste with buttery mouthfeel. Medium bodied. A bit dissapointed about this one. Bottle at Kaffee de Hopduvel, Gent, Nov. 2006. note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands Oct 22, 2008 330 ml bottle. hazy yellow colour. big, fading white head. fruity, citrus taste. not my kind of taste, but okay for a blond.
