Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Poured from a bottle into a Brugse Zot glass. Golden, transparent color. Only the faintest head formed. A very light smelling beer. A hint of pear and other fruits. Taste: Slightly malty, some bright fruits and just clean tasting. Overall subtle flavors but still good. Light and crisp with moderate carbonation. Great beer. Very drinkable, goes down easy but with some nice flavors. All the notes are subtle but still appreciated.

(bottle) murky golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of floral hops, powdered sugar and apricots, with a faint hint of bretty funk and sunflower fields. flavour is mostly black pepper and marzipan, with a touch of ethanol, some talcum powder and a light-bitter floral-hoppy finish. medium- to heavy-bodied with lively carbonation.

Pours a brilliant clear amber with huge billowing head and lots of cascading bubbles. Banana esters immediately apparent, stone fruits, bubblegum, floral honey, fresh bread, spices. The taste has characteristic belgian yeasty funk, white pepper, banana, fresh bread, a little lemon. Dry and bitter finish. A little watery and less flavour than anticipated from the aroma. Light bodied and spritzy. Enjoyable enough but some more intensity in the flavour would’ve enhanced this.

Bottle, 330ml. A semi-cloudy amber beer with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is of green grapes, Belgian yeast and some citrics. Taste is bittersweet with some carbonation and astringency. Light to medium bodied with a somewhat citric aftertaste that reminds me of green grapes.

Bottle, 33cl. Sparkling amber with a large creamy, frothy offwhite head. Grainy aromas, hints of vanilla and spices. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderate fruity sweetness with no bitterness and a slight green apple sourness. Very drinkable and pleasant.
