Commercial Description:
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

I walked by a dry-cleaners at 3:00 in the morning and there was a sign on the door that said, "Sorry, We Are Closed." You don’t need to be sorry. It’s 3:00 in the morning, and you’re a dry-cleaner... it would be ridiculous for me to expect you to be open.

Draft in Brugge, just across the street from the brewery. Clear amber color with a thick white head and nice lacing. Pleasant fruity aroma, yeasty as well with peach blossoms and nice floral hoppiness. Sweet, light toasty malts, honey, citrus and a crisp floral hop bite. Please light to medium body, sparkly carbonation. Pretty nice overall. Looks like I’m the first non-European to rate this!

Hazy amber pour into a tulip. Frothy white micro head leaves slight lacing as it recedes with a medium pace. Fruity lemon and yeast aromas. Fizzy and full sweet lemon upfront with a crisp bitter hop finish.

Hazy yellow gold hue, with a frothy white head, yeasty, fruity nose of ripe apples, with a subtle citrus flowery hop, with some honeyed, and faint vanilla notes, with a sweet pale malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a spritzy, yeasty, citrusy, character, with a nice stewed apples and lemon accent, a mild flowery hop note, good carbonation, leading towards a light dry finish.

750 mml corked and caged bottle:
Appearance: Pours orange with a mid sized head. Loads of sediment
Aroma: Modest aroma of winter apples and marzipan.
Flavour: Modest fruitiness; pears and bananas.
Palate: Dry and yeasty, somewhat thin with a slight alcohol burn.
Overall: No surprises here; a typical Belgian Blond Ale.
