COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

A pale colored beer with colorless head. A nice yeast aroma, but in the background you recognise some hops/ A sweet taste with some hop accents but they don’t linger. The sweet tast will conquer you senses and stay there. I don’t like the happy endings, I prefer a bitter end.

Cerveza dorada con espuma densa y pegajosa. Olor algo afrutado, como piña. Sabor amargo, malteado, algo cítrico y óxido. Demasiado gas para mi gusto y presencia del alcohol a pesar de tener solo 6%.

Colour: Pale Gold. Nose: Fruity, toast, sweet. Flavours: Citrus, vanilla & sugar with a subtle layer of bitterness. Finish: Too much CO² for me. Messes with the aftertaste. Verdict: Nice blond ale - not a work of art...

Well sealed 2008 750 ml corked bottle. Appearance: Pours a hazy golden color with a sudsy white head that as excellent retention and leaves good lacing Smell: A fruity banana/lemon/orange/lime with some bready light malts and yeast. Slightly musty. Lots of fine-grained carbonation. Taste: Mildly tart with noticeable sweetness too. Nicely complex, with hints of lemon, orange, banana and light spices. Mouthfeel: Light bodied and very effervescent, somewhat like champagne although fuller. Overall: A gentle but complex beer, with many nuances of aromas and flavors. Recommended.

Chilled 33cl brown bottle served in that breweries glass. Pours clear deep golden with big white head. Medium/low carbonation, light body, tight small bubble lacing, and really nice floral aroma. Taste is fruity, zesty, and crisp finish.

Multiple bottles and on tap in Brugge. Clearish deep gold with a nice beige head. The aroma is decent, very floral and with an emphasis on pale Belgian malts. Flavour is pleasing, the herbal hops and floral character cuts through the abundant and sweet malt body. Feels somewhat thicker on the palate. For some reason it’s much better in bottles as I always found the tap lines to be dirty and/or the beer was off.

Aroma: Salt, bread, straw, Belgian yeast and a subtle hint of mango.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a huge off-white head. Very lively carbonation. Great lacing.

Taste: Very mild and lightly spiced. Bready, peppery and salty.

Palate: Medium body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation.

Overall: A pretty straightforward Belgian blonde - lacking in depth and complexity. Not bad.

Orangée trouble, bonne pétillance, mousse crémeuse, col épais. Assez bien houblonnée, amertume assez bien présente, notes fruitées (agrumes) et épicées, petite sécheresse en fin de bouche. Agréable, sans plus

bottle at home, popuirs exaclty like a lager ( very light and clear blonde, white foam ) smell is koreander. ( whatever that is in english, its the stuff you get in belgian white’s ) too high carbo, saisonish-yeast , much koreander again. tastes more of a white meets saison than the blonde ale i was expecting ... floral a bit , as well. not realy intence . way to much carbo, as usual in belgian beers ...

On tap at De Torre, Bruges. Amber with a decent head. Bitter and dry with a dirty metallic aroma. Heavy and not overly drinkable.
