Cloudy golden beer with a firm bright white head. Medium carbonation. slighlty fruity aroma. Malty, fruity slighlty hoppy taste. With a light sweet aftertaste. Pretty good beer. Drinks away very smoothly. But a bit to boring for a top score.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 On tap. Golden with a white head, somewhat floral nose. A bit hoppy, some citrus notes. very watery with metallic tones. ok-ish, but that’s about it. Judging from other reviews, I’m wondering if I got what I ordered....

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.
Cloudy hazy golden apricot colour with slight traces of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 4 minutes; Excellent and beautiful sticky lacing with active carbonation; Aroma of lager malt, with light mango, yellow fruits, faint papaya, light alcohol, light syrups, light Bel yeast and very strong grass; Mid to light sweet taste of lager / pilsener malt, with light apricot and peaches, molasses, alcohol, Bel yeast, strong bitter lime, and very grassy hops; Medium body. Thick, slick and slightly creamy palate; Mouth feel is like mid-grade Duvel - very Pils-like, Bel-yeasted, and with very grassy hops. Except that it has a pretty thick body, a lot less sweeter (I like it!), flickering light booze in background, and fruit tastes is the unusual apricot and peach, all overwhelmed by overtly grassy hops and bitter lime for a lasting mid-bitter and astringent finish; Fairly dry after taste, crisp and nicely bitter-sweet to mouth.
Comments: This is like a Begian Ale version of Duvel - a hoppy German Pils with Bel yeast treatment, thick body, big fat malt, grassy and bitter. The Bel yeast, sweetness and booze comes as complementary light touch. The more I sips, the more I like. Definitely a keeper!
