jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. A golden orange color with a white head. The aroma has pepper, spices and sweet candy. A spritzy, citrus, candy, bubblegum and banana flavor.
crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Nov 3, 2009 Slightly cloudy golden pour with a white head. Mild citrus aroma. Flavor is similar, but contains some mild garbage notes at first. This fades, and the beer gets a little bit better, but remains average at best. maupie (593), Roosendaal, Netherlands Nov 1, 2009 After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a thick golden color and a light acid taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a fruity touch. This beer smells malty. Lyncham (48), Ohio, USA Oct 20, 2009 The beer that the Brewer gives at the end of the tour should encourage people to want to drink the other beers that the brewery has to offer right? Well, in Belgium, Brugse Zot does not cut it. There are too may beers that are far better then this. THis beers does have a good aroma of citrus from the yeast selection. BTW the tour is pretty good, but very basic about brewing. The old equipment is nice to see. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 13, 2009 Draft at De Halve Maan after the brewery tour. Pours a cloudy, dark, orange amber hue with a frothy, off-white head of foam.
A wet, soapy wash mostly rejoins the body, though a few scant spots remain behind on the glass. The aroma is based in blonde candy sugar, showing hints of banana, and is spiced with coriander, orange peel, and soft floral hops. Flavors are largely the same, again sweet up front with blonde candy, yet balanced decently on the back end with spicy coriander and dried wildflowers. Mediuml bodied, with lively carbonation, the palate is easy going, finishing clean. Solid spicy blond, but nothing special. Travlr (698), Washington, Washington DC, USA Oct 4, 2009 On draught at Delirium in Brussels. Straw colored with a medium large white head. Aroma of citrus and hay. Yeasty flavor with some spice and citrus. Bitter edge. Not bad, but lacks complexity. gunnar (486), Sandnes, Norway Sep 20, 2009 On tap @ Cafe Oporto, Amsterdam. Pours unclear light golden with a small white creamy head. Aroma of yeast, spices.Taste of spiced yeast, sour notes, some bitterness at the end. Very much carbonation. eManu (172), Brussels, Belgium Sep 9, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy gold color with a small cream color head that did not stay long. Taste has high carbonation. Aroma is not very present but a hint of malts and citrus is found. Flavors of yeast is very present, with fruity and spicy notes, and with a sweet and bitter finish. Dry and with a not of a smoky flavor last in mouth. Did not particularly enjoyed this beer. wimpie133 (130), Brugge, Belgium Sep 6, 2009 Draught é L’Estaminet, Brugge. Beautiful blonde ale with thick, white, lacing and durable head. Grainy aroma, with some spicy notes. Taste is also grainy and spicy, with a fruity, honey note on it and yeasty. It finishes light hoppy and bitter, with a full mouthfeel. Refreshing and dry beer. A good one to drink, but lacks a bit in overall taste to be a real top beer.
