Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget, Munkebäck, Göteborg, Sweden. Hazy golden with a small white head. Fruity and herbal malt aroma with bananas and yeast notes. Light to medium bodied with a slightly spritzy carbonation. Dry with moderate bitterness.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk. Pours a clear golden yellow with a bubble white head with surprising longevity. Aroma is barnyard, muskiness, honey and a touch of oak. Lively mouthfeel. Flavour has a dry tartness with lots of herbs. This is surely a Saison, not a Belgian Ale. Some ginger, light peppers, banana and apples. The 7 % are nowhere to be seen.

zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 30, 2007
Bottle purchased at Kazansky’s in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh. Hazy pale cider, white head. Aroma is tangy bleu cheese, vinegar, skunk, oak. Flavor is honey wheat sour dough, oak, cheese, slight fruit. The aroma and flavor are different enough to be strange. That said, I probably wouldn’t buy this beer again.

Gold blond coloured beer with little carbonation and a small white head. Very herby malty aroma. Full palate, with some sprankling. Finish is herby, with an alcoholic touch. Not bad.

It pours a nice head, the aroma has yeast and banana and perhaps some citrus. The flavor is yeasty and with some banana too. It’s not that good, but I’m also more into the stronger and darker Belgium beers.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2011 $2 brown bottle from Kazansnky’s. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color and appearance, however, it does have a sort of dirty water slight hazy hue in the color. Aroma of mild alcohol and honey. Thin froth for a head and it is also kind of dirty off white, quite unique. Medium strength alky bite on the first taste. Appears to be stronger than average on the taste buds and olfactory during the session ....now I see it is 7%. Medium carbonation. Slight industrial palate. A little harsh at times. Comes across like many american malt liquors I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Unrefined at times with a medium bitter metallic finish that hangs for a while on the roof of the mouth. Glad to have had the chance to taste this but it is a little too coarse. If I didn’t look at the label, I would have confused it with an american malt liquor or an ’ice’ beer.

Delicious Belgian. One of the better ones I’ve had. Aroma was very weak, though, but mostly yeast. Pour was a cloudy light orange with no head at all. Taste was delicious with small bubbles and heavy carbonation. Sweet honey, yeast and some pepper and spices in there as well. Semi-dry finish. Nice.

Bottle. Slightly hazy, golden beer with a big creamy head. Herbal and citrussy aroma, sweet. Sweet corn flavours, some herbs. Nothing to write home about.

Availlable on bottle as well from tap, although not tasted the draft one. A little fruity smel and some lightly bitter. Getting better the more you drink
