3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KajII (705) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - OCT 14, 201211.2oz Bottle. The pour was a murky gold with a light brown hue and a small (1 finger or less) white fizzy head that diminished rapidly down to a thin film with a small collar, which did create some fair runny lacing.
The aroma was of a light grain malt and a musty doughy yeast with notes of apple, pears, banana and a hint of spice.
The taste was very malty with a nice fruity ester from the beginning, and then progressed with a strong yeast presence and a mild spicy bitterness towards the end. The flavor lingered for an average amount of time after the swallow, with a mild alcohol warming sensation at the very end.
Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a ticklish carbonation.
Overall this was a somewhat light Strong Ale both in body and in flavor, although it does offer an exceptionally smooth drinkability...

Bottle at Brux Ale, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear straw colour with a very white frothy head a lots of carbonation. The aroma is fresh and yeasty. The flavour is clean, crisp and with all that Belgian yeast and malt. It’s not too dissimilar to many other Belgian blondes I’ve tasted and it has many similarities with Duvel. It’s highly drinkable and il’ll order another!

750ml. Bottled 6 / 2010. Pours a bright gold. Active and high foamy head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and apples. Medium to full bodied, strong carbonation. Anise, yeast, spice, and apples are the predominant flavors. Crisp, dry finish with lingering spice. Maybe lost a bit of the hop profile in the last 2 years in the cellar, but this drinks exceptionally. The 7% ABV goes down very smoothly. A fine Belgian blonde.
