330 ml bottle, poured into a long tulip glass. Brown color, a bit cloudy. One finger head that reduces to nothing. Smell is dominated by dark, sweet malt. Quite boozy. Taste is on the sweet side with notes of brown sugar and liquorice. Body feels medium and fizzy. Overall it was a decent brew. I wasn’t very impressed but I enjoyed it.

Bottle from It’s An Eco Life Inc. (Ontario) unfiltered amber with medium beige head that lasts. Decent carbonation. Smells like dark fruits and caramel malts. Flavours of fig, prune, and dates. Roasted malts and some licorice round it off. Short but pronounced bitter end. Excellent brew from an old recipe.

Dark brown colour. Medium carbonation. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel and liquorice. Sweet with bitter finish. Typical Belgian dubbel.

ruigo (1124) - PORTUGAL - MAR 19, 2014
Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Luxembourg). Pours a hazy brown colour with a off-white head. Aroma is deep liquorice, caramel and sweet malts. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter and a lightly dry finish. Some roasted notes. Overall, a very drinkable beer but a bit too sweet for me.

Bottled 330ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Brownish/amber coloured, medium sized beige head, dryish nutty and fruity nose. Quite fizzy. Moderate malty, nutty, overripe fruit and alcohol with notes of sugar and spices. Hint of roastiness in the finish. Weak yeasty also. Expected better one.

Chipalsa (1309) - Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2014
This was a pretty decent Belgian brew with lots of spices and fruit in the mix of things. It tasted of ripe, bitter dark fruit with a splash of candi-sugar and rich toffee malts. I had acquired a 2011 bottle and seemed to do the style quite nicely. Cheers!

subsonic (82) - Pataskala, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Poured a hazy deep brown color ale with large foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with good Belgian malt backbone. Taste is also a nice mix between some candi sugar and strong malt backbone with some notes of dry fruits such as raisins. Good carbonation and full body with no noticeable alcohol.

330 ml bottle. Pours dark red/brown with moderate head. Aromas of raisins, copper, spice, and toasted malts. Flavors of dates, liquorice, and dark caramel. Metallic and a bit watery but still a good quaff.

Flasche (33 cl). - Dunkles Rotbraun, rasch schwindender Schaum. Zuckrig-fruchtige Nase.
