A great satisfying classic Belgium brune. Elegant high class beer. Must try. The fruity aspects of this beer are phenomenal. Plum, prune, pear and peach. Woody, musty, barrel. First rate bitter profile. Carbonation and body are perfect. Top ten for me.

Poured from 33ml bottle into a Delirium Tremens tulip glass. Pours a relatively thin, white head. But a great Dubbel! – albeit not- classic in that it is NOT sweet. Nose of mild molasses, vanilla and soy sauce. Thick, full-bodied flavor mix of ground coffee, fig, rum, caramel. Spiced through the finish. Split this case with two friends. I’ll spring for another for myself come next payday and save it as a "special".

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2010 September 2006: Bottle, 33 cl. Clear dark red-brownisch color, with nice off-white head. Aroma complex, malts, bit spicy, chocolat. Medium body. Taste low bitterness, creamy mouthfeel, dry, roasted malts, spices, little sweet. Good ! Tasted @ brewery end of june 2010. Re-tasted with William and friends on 05.07.2010 from bottle 75 cl. almost like first rating, but aroma and taste have some chocolat and an alcohol touch. Stays very good beer.

Hazy brown with medium lasting off white head. Aroma has sweet roasted malt, overripe fruits and yeast. Explosive flavor with same notes as in aroma. Very good balance.
