emacgee (976), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2008 Thanks abcfan for the extra. Pours a dark ruby brown with a two finger frothy tan head. The aroma was sweet, raisiny, nice fruity nose, light alcohol. The flavor is fruity, dark port, raisins, light alcohol, slight meaty flavor. Nice carbonated mouthfeel with a sweet warming finish. Underrated in my opinion.
BoBoChamp (255), Gent, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 33cl, from Geers Oostakker, complex brew, balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew Arayaga2 (739), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Deep ruby color with tall, but quickly fading light brown head. Aroma is sweet and figgy with candi sugar and bubble gum notes. Perhaps it’s too cold, but it tastes a bit like an organic soda. Sweet, and fruity with prune, vigorously carbonated but too light and airy as a result. Carbonation throws it off balance, and screams for minerals or yeast character. $4/12oz Bigmmartin (137), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 25, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown color with a fairly thick foamy head. Aroma is mostly yeast and light alcohol. Flavor is sweet and mild. Nice carbonation. A solid Belgian ale but not mind blowing. 1_2many (142), Ohio, USA Jun 25, 2008 Nice burgundy brown with a moderate head. Smooth sweet aroma of malty sugar. Pretty good brew. Maria (3816), Thisted, Denmark Jun 11, 2008 The color is nice, deep red mahogany and the head is creamy. The aroma has sweetness and notes of malt, candy sugar, spices and dark fruits. The flavour has sweetness, notes of malt, candy sugar, caramel, spices and the finish has dry, citrussy notes.
