3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle. Purchased @ Julio’s Liquors. Cellared 11 months. The corked popped with authority and nearly put a dent in my ceiling ( did not gush). Snifter shows me a nice mahogany color with lasting Beige head. Thick lace on the side of the glass. Very mild nose of spices that do put the memory of Christmas in my mind. But not one thing stands out. Tastes of caramel, some type of indistinct spices, candy sugar and hints of yeast. My favorite thing about this beer was the creamy, velvety texture on my tongue. Not the most complex Abby you will ever find but decent. Medium body and real easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy brown colour, big tan head that fades away quickly. Aroma is very complex: lots of cinnamon, cider, maple syrup, banana, ginger, herbal hops and a heavy alcohol hint overall. Taste is less complex but enjoyable as well; have cinnamon, apples, resin, kind of sweet with a blend of sour and a REALLY strong alcoholic sensation. Full body, soft carbonation and heavy astringent finish. Very underrated here on RB, is a nice belgian ale.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Punertavan tummanruskea olut hyvin hiilihappoisesti kuplivalla runsaalla vaahdolla, joka kuitenkin häviää yhtä nopeasti kuin on tullutkin. Tuoksu jouluinen, pääasiassa vallitsevana kuitenkin käynyt punaviinimarja. Maku on yllättävän "kevyt" tuoksuun nähden, mutta samoja elementtejä löydettävissä siitäkin. Myös jälkimaku aika keveä ja mitäänsanomaton. Ei tämä belgiparhaimmistoon nouse millään.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Feb. ’16. A 0.33 l traditional fat little Belgian bottle, an incredible gusher like I’ve never seen before, I messed up everything around. Hazy brown body. Fine, sweet aroma of chocolate, caramel, banana, spices like pepper, coriander...lots of things here, very complex. Flavor was less sweet, and less complex but still enjoyable. Caramel, light bread/yeast, spiced up with coriander, oak wood and touch of smoke. Medium bodied with moderately long woody and caramel finish. Alcohol was quite well hidden, only warmed a bit at the end. Very good!
And I see now how underestimated is here on RB, with just the opposite of the two relatively ugly beers I just had before! Ah...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Strong cinnamon, nutmeg, and chocolate malt aroma. Cloudy brown with small head. Sweet earthy cinnamon, light nutmeg, chocolate malt and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Very good - spicy but doesn’t taste like a mulled wine or pumpkin pie.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Smell of cherry with dark amber color. Lot of foam. Taste wasn’t good, felt a little bit like they put some Tide in it. For an expensive noël Belgian beer i was disappointed.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Heavy, spicy Christmas Ale. Not very drinkable, tons of malts and spices. Weird mineral taste and flavour.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the OBER Kerstbier festival, Essen 2014. Poured a murky medium brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is caramel, sweet malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a light mineral aspirin earthy palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aïïï, why this metal note…? Grrrr….. But then, you get a beer with a sour character, which surprised me, combined with again clove and star anise and other christmas spices. The body is medium and the carbonation too intense. Its ends with a licorice dry taste. A lot of controversial tastes though....
Not my beer, too distracting - I miss the clear line and a well balanced composition of the different tastes. It’s interesting, that’s true, but I won’t consider it on my christmas list.
