A standard barley beer certified as containing less than 5 ppm of gluten after brewing.
ATTENTION: This entry is for the Bio and Bio-Gluten Free (now superseding the bio version). The gluten free is labeled with a small ’gluten free’ mark on the label.
Though this beer has been separated from the Blonde Bio, there is no evidence that the recipe has changed, so it is likely that the beers are the same. Do not assume that this will be a new beer, as the beers may be merged in the near future.

33cl bottle at Museumcafé Huis van Alijn in Ghent (3 III 2016), shared it with my girlfriend as ’Malteni Blond / Blonde’. This glutenfree brew is the blonde brother of the traditional amber Malteni, although it also looks very orange or amber to me. Almost light brownish or iced tea looking. The sparkling beer has a white, very firm collar and appears to be a bit hazy. There is a huge Belgian yeasts smell, and the nose has some stable and straw in it. this is an archetype Belgian blonde for sure. The taste is alcohol warming, far more heavy bodied than expected, and the mouth has notes of sourness, earth hints and even honey.

Huge very dense yellowish head, fed by lively carbonated dirty-golden beer. Grainy, bit diary nose, dried herbs and a tad dusty. Spicy, titillating malt flavour; herbal, actually rather attractive, despite quite some sweetness. Well-carbonated, gristslick. Better than most contraptions for autosuggestive diseases.

Hazy orange colored. Lost of fizz. Not too intense on the nose but with some good yeast fruitiness, some citrus tones. Little to no hop aroma. Med sweetness, a bit balanced acidity. A bit malty and estery. Very light body. Taste of oranges and green bananas. Ok.

33 cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours cloudy orange with a big white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast and fruits. Taste is light bitter. High carbonation - almost a champagne feel. Allright blonde.

Bottle 33cl. Slightly hazy pale golden, good fizzy white head, diminishing slowy, good lacing; aroma is wheat, yeast, medicinal, citrus; taste islight heavy to medium sweet and light bitter, fruity, watery, spicy, with average duration; medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste is sweetbitter, kinda thinnish, peppery notes; though on the thin side not bad for a glutenfree beer.

33cL stubby bottle. Bottle date notched as March, 2014. So, about 20 months old. Poured into Courage Imperial Stout tulip/snifter. No gushing like the Triple. Medium strength head, light lacing. Golden color. Aroma is lightly honey Belgian malts, very airy, and very light dough. Moderately vigorous carbonation that cleans the flavor, which is lightly biscuit, Belgian cookie dough - light, and faint fruity ester. A pretty light yet felt beer. Damn good line of gluten free beers, maybe. Not bad for a 99 cent bottle on the discount rake.

F: huge white, long lasting. C: hazy golden to hint of amber. A: malty, sweet tones like honey, orange, yeast. T: 0,33l bottle from Carrefour in Brussels, malty, some caramel, honey, grassy hops, dusty, medium body, average carbo, some medicinal tones but it is ok for gluten free, white sugar, very good taste for the gluten free beer.

Bottle from local Yamaya store. Yeasty, estery nose, some peach maybe. Hazy honey color, fat fluffy pocked white head, some lace. Medium-strength peach, something like bacon (!) in mid palate, thin small sweetness in finish. Medium body. Hmm.... decent, I suppose. The mid palate thing is weird. Not terribly tasty or interesting. Good for a gluten-free brew.
