Sigmund (2011), Hafrsfjord, Norway Sep 21, 2008 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.0%. This is an organic beer. Milky / murky pale yellow to brown colour, moderate head that does not last forever. Typical witbier aroma, notes of spices (coriander and cloves) and orange peel. Fizzy mouthfeel (too fizzy for me). The flavour has again coriander and cloves, moderate notes of orange peel. Very moderate hops. Not the best witbier I’ve had.
goozen (840), Leiden, Netherlands Nov 29, 2008 Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy yellow brew thats starts with an barnyard-smell like some Saisons have. Then the Witbier style took over with its coriander taste and thirstquenching abillities. Beer2000 (1393), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 21, 2008 330 ml bottle. Pale golden with lots of carbonation and a big foamy white head. Aroma is coriander, yeast with a hint of bitter citrus fruit. The first impression of the flavor is sweet and spicy with some yeast. Then a mild sense of overripe fruit and a little bit metallic that ends up with a bitter impression. The bitterness fades briefly at the second mouthful and gives a yeasty, orange peel and almost soapy finish. I don’t like this to much. OleR (1434), Oslo, Norway Oct 10, 2008 330 ml bottle. Huge dense white head. Foggy pale straw yellow with a milky-white shade. Minty, herbal hop aroma. Some wheaty notes with a touch of medicine. Acidulous malty flavor with spice and hefb notes. Light to medium body. Strange chemical finish. Unsignificant. larsga (2473), Oslo, Norway Oct 3, 2008 Big white head does not last. Hazy deep yellow body with yeast lumps lurking in the bottom of the bottle. Coriander and yeast aroma, kind of flat. Dryish coriander and wheat taste with citric herbal notes. Mid- to thin body, mealy mouthfeel. Dry herbal aftertaste. Not bad, but certainly boring. (0.33l, wine monopoly, Oslo.)
