Dark, red-brown colour. Deep aroma of red fruits. Flavour is fruity with a little oak but very easy to drink. A great winter warmer.

Bottled at Kerstbierfestival 2007. A hazy amber beer with a thin lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of prunes and over-ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits as well as lighter notes of spices - cinnamon and cloves, as well as lighter notes of prunes an alcohol, that leaves a burn on the back of the tongue.

Dark chestnut color. It’s a quite basic Belgian Dubbel, based on caramel from the aroma through the flavor to the final, and with very limited bitterness to balance it; the yeast leaves an impression of ripe apples. Not bad, but a full glass is almost too much.

bottle 33cl: slightly hazy dark tea color with a spritzy thin cola-like head that dissipated before I could classify its color. Highly malty aroma with lots of caramel and biscuit. A murky yeastiness mingled with raisin winds its way through the malt. A small touch of paper (not quite cardboard) and some greenery is just noticeable. Dried strawberries start to come through in the nose after a while. Carbonation hits you on the back of your tongue releasing toffee and raisin. That is pretty quickly finished off with an herbal assault. A mixture of indescribable herbs that seem to be "thoroughly cooked". Toffee comes back again in the finish bringing some hot alcohol with it.

33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours hazy to murky brown with an orange dense head. Dried fruity and malty aroma, slight spiced. Flavour is dried fruity with malty tones towards roasted and chocolate without getting there. Finish holds a mild raisin note without getting sweet. Ends malty. Nice.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Kerstfest, Essen.
Murky horrible brown with no head. Very sweet, sugary aroma with some yeast and lots of caramel. Tastes like it has plenty of age in it even though I know it hasn’t. Oxidised notes with a heavy spice and toffee finish.

(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen) Dark reddish brown with a small, completely fading head. Raisins and rye-pudding in the sweetish aroma. Dried fruit and sweetish malt in the flavor, with some alcohol presence. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated palate, sticks into the mouth. A quite nice raisin bomb.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2007
A hazy dirty brown ale with a thin off white head and chunks. Aroma of burned caramel, light spices, and fruity esters. In mouth, an interesting anis and molasse taste, light and not overbearing, some caramel, a bit thin and light alcohol, but considering this is 2 yrs old, it is still in decent shape. Bottle bought in Belgium, May 2005.
