Hoppy and fruity aroma. Golden coloured fruity hoppy and a little sweet on the palate with a hint of dryness in a crisp malt finish.

Cask handpull, The Brunswick Inn, Derby. Gold with a reddish tint and a thin white head becoming a halo. Really not the kind of wishy-washy GA I was expecting; polished pine and evergreen aroma, spruce-laden, thistle-like hops way upfront, soap and pine needle. More green than gold; fresh and coniferous. One dimensional, with no discernible malt flavours to balance it, but a tasty, attractively hopped brew. The pick of the Brunswick stuff I tried at the tap.

Lasting sparkler’s head covers the clearish golden body. This is a nicely malty ale with a firm, bready body that holds a certain creaminess. Mature breadiness further develops in mouth and holds a fair sweetness that is gently compensated by soft, gentle floral hops that complete the portrait.

Cask@2006 Derby Winter Beer Festival. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is caramel and very dry, and the flavour is very dry and well hopped. Overall a very dry beer where the sum of its parts do not constitute the whole.

Cask, Nottingham Fest 05. Golden and bright - not head. Aromas are sweet lemon, butter and spices. Quite fruity with sweet hops. Flavours are sweet biscuit malts with lemon and lots of nice pepperiness. Good and dry on the finish. Simple but effective.

Cask Conditioned at The Malt Shovel, Northampton. Pale gold to clear beer with light head. This is a sharp, clean, clear bitter, crystal dry on the tongue with a grapfruit peel tanginess. Long, long bitter finish.
