Dark opaque brown color, small beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, hints of vegetables and tartness. Light to medium bodied. Toasted malty and coffeish. Light sweet point in the finish. A bit ashy too. No trace of chili.

Bottle from oddbins. Black appearance. Chocolate and smoke taste but bitter finish. Too bitter really. Ok but probably wouldn’t buy again

Darkest Brown, flattish head brown. Off sour roast nose. Terse roast, odd soft carbonation. Bitter, punishing finish. Either a bit infected or more than a bit poor.

Bottle, Deplete The Stock Tasting from Chris Wines Feb 2013

Bastard gusher of a bottle! Opaque dark brown beer with a huge gusher bastard tan head. Light palate, semi dry and airy. Minerals. Semi dry dark malt with a touch of dark chocolate. Tiny drop of red berry fruits. Trace of chilli, mild warmth - nicely judged. Dry finish. Not bad apart from the bastard gushing!

Bottled 13/07/13. A black beer with a dissipating beige head. A very dry porter. Burnt malts and a hint of spicy chilli heat. Too dry for my liking but it’s well constructed I guess.

Bottle from City Beverage Co. Mmmmm heaps of chili spice on the nose. Very bitey with chili and chocolate all through the taste. Not my kind of thing

[Cask at Reading BF] Black with a tan head. Spicy, with smoke, port and creosote. Really spicy actually, quite a lot of chilli here. Good depth of flavor behind to support the spice though, a delicious, intriguing beer. Nice one.
