COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a celebration of malt. The aroma leads off with an appealing fruitiness, produced by our house yeast, that gives way to a rich caramel aroma that, in turn, is followed by the herbal character of our finishing hops. Predominantly malty — from the initial nutty flavor through the rich caramel sweetness — it has a light finish that leaves your palate clean and ready for more.

Nice amber. Huge crystal malts with a mild cocoa snap, all balanced by a nice earthy hop bite. Very well done.

Pours a rather clear amber with minimal lacing. Aroma is drenched on caramel, diacytel and fruit. The taste is sweet, but not too cloying.

Pours a dark brown color with a very thin white head. Not a lot of aroma. Definite maltiness on the tongue with a hint of maple syrup. The finish is a bit watery.

Pours a dark amber with a minimal head and no lacing. The bar’s description of this beer highlights the malts in the beer, which is true, because I didn’t really get any hop flavor from this beer. A flat beer with strong overtones of maple syrup.

Boy I didn’t like this very much. Bad batch? For their sake I hope that’s all it was. Pours an amber color with a small head that falls flat pretty quickly. The aroma is lightly fruity but there is no doubt that there is butterscotch and diacetyl in there as well. The flavor has some baking soda and some butterscotch with a light bitterness and fruity character.

My Bottom Line:
Simple caramel malts tend to dominate the herbal hops until the finish in this slightly incohesive Amber Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces atop the hazy amber.
-The aroma is once again very shy.
-The end result is still drinkable, but mostly forgettable and lacking a polished quality.

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at the BruRoom Brew Pub. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, and fruity. Tastes of caramel, floral, and had an herbalness to it. Light lacing left on the glass.

on tap-pours an off white head and amber color. Aroma is mild medium malt. Taste is medium malt-deep sweet/honey/caramel, faint flat hops bite. Mild carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2007 Like most of this brewery’s beers, I did not find this one terribly exciting. It has also been inconsistent. In a time-span of about two months I have had it once where it was hoppier, and a second time where there were almost no hops noticeable. The malt dominates the flavor, it is a bit sweet and warm tasting. It also tastes thin and bland, however, without being refreshing.

Pours a translucent amber with hints of golden and barely no head. Aroma of sweet malty caramel nose and not a whole lot more. Flavor of sweet caramel, toffee, nuts some fruitiness, citrus and overall kind of thin.

Pours a dark amber with a white head. Sweet malty smell to it, with a hint of hops bitterness. Flavor is too sweet, and the hops don’t balance it enough. I usually find amber ales too sweet, and this is a good example of it. An ok beer but really lacks the balance a lot of their other beers have.
