COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You better believe it. We use seven different malts to create an incredible sensation of aroma and flavor. The special-roasted barleys we use give this brew its smokey espresso scent. And the first sip reveals a rich sweet brew character that ends in a coffee/cocoa finish. Our special natural-character process creates the dense head, tiny bubbles, and creamy character of this dark beauty. Perfect to sit with and contemplate. After a large pie, don't say Decaf Espresso, say Damn Good Stout.

Pours dark brown with a creamy mocha colored head. Aroma consists o coffee and chocolate, the finish is burnt malt. A little thin, but delicious none the less. Lacks depth but at 5.5 I’ll take it.

Pours black with just a hint of brown with a really thin white head. Big malty chocolately notes on the nose and on the tongue. Warms nicely and has a bit of hop expression on the finish.

In short: A inoffensive creamy stout with lactic notes. Low intensity. Low interest.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head with good retention
In long: Light nose of basic roasted malts. Taste is a bit roasted, very lactic, some cookies, not hops presence. Mouthfeel is creamy. Not much to say about this one, this is as basic as it gets. Lactic character came out too strong with so little else happening. Not bad per say, just very boring. My only disappointment at this pub. Damn Ordinary Stout.

On tap at the Bru Room. Black, with mocha creamy head, measuring 1/4 inch. Srved appropriate waarmer. Roast and chocolate aroma. Coffee is the story, and the coffee acid build as i finish gulp after gulp. Fuller mouthfeel. Very nitro like.

Cask at Brazen Head. Deep black pour with a thin tan head. The nose is great. Loaded with fresh coffee and a lot of soft malty sweetness. Rich brown sugar along with a decent amount of sweet cocoa on the back of a bright herbal coffee flavour. Not at all vegetal and the coffee is quite expressive. Rich and chewy and fairly unctuous. The texture is soft and chewy with a nice earthy component from the coffee and from the roasted malts. There is a touch of light molasses and chewy toasted grain throughout. A real surprise… one of the better coffee beers I’ve had in quite some time.

My Bottom Line:
Roasted coffee beans, biscuity cereals and blueberry esters whip up a drinkable example of the Stout family.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the brownish-black.
-The nose is very timid, which is a shame.
-You have to love coffee to enjoy this one. It’s a tad intense on the espresso flavors.
-The body was well rounded and carbonation smooth enough to make it drinkable.
-The finish was quite roasty and bitter, but not overly so.

On tap at the brewpub.

Very dark pour. Got a pitcher which then went into a pint glass. Strong coffee & chocolate nose. Great smooth taste.

Had this last night with some great BAR pizza. I get this beer every time here and it looks as excellent as it tastes./ Pours with a good head, tastes frothy, and has yet to disappoint.

The aroma is heavy, of caramel, with substantial roast, but the roast not dominating. The carbonation is very thin and smooth, like an Irish dry stout. There’s only a hint of bitterness; there’s a little sweetness though too, and a little sourness. The characteristic that really stands out in this beer though is the high alcohol content--you can taste the alcohol too readily; in my opinion a beer this thin and smooth should have less alcohol because the body and flavor do not mask it well. Bottom line? This is the best beer I’ve tried from BruRm so far, but it’s only average.

on tap-pours a tan head that laces and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt. Taste is sweet rich dark malt-cocoa, oatmeal, creamy, roasty. Occasional. Minimum carbonation.
