COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brew emphasizes hops from beginning to end. The clean herbal aroma comes from dry hopping, the process of adding hops after fermentation. For this we chose a variety of hops grown in the Yakima Mountains of Washington. The flavor starts with a delicious malty character and builds quickly to a big hop finish. There is no harsh lingering aftertaste, we have carefully crafted this brew so that the assertive dryness at the end starts to fade just as you are ready for another sip.

Slightly hazy amber. Thin white head. Moderately light carbonation. Citric hop aroma. Medium bodied, quite malty initially with a smack of Pac NW hop flavor. Nicely balanced and imminently drinkable. Another good brew from the Rm.

Pours a heavily filtered dark orange, with no lacing. Aroma has hints of metal, but predominantly pince, resin and grapefruit. A somewhat biscuit malt component balances the hops out. Hints of diacytel.

Pours a slight dark yellow with a very thin light white head. If I inhale really really deeply I might get a slight hop every once in a while. Some hop character on the tongue but it doesnt linger.

My favorite and least flawed beer from the BAR. This is overall a pretty well balanced pale ale with solid hop/malt blend. This was the only beer I had from the night that had a pleasant aftertaste of bitter hop zing. This was a little bit on the watery side, but overall not bad.

In short: A basic refreshing brewpub pale ale. Uninspired but well brewed, I can’t complain.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a small off-white head with good lacing
In long: Nose of standard pale ale (light C-hops kind of nose). Taste has some citrus fruits, soft caramel, light grapefruits notes. Mild bitterness with a light tartness. I’ve had a pale ale like that 100 times before. I cannot fault it for anything. It was a hot day and I drank my pint in 10 minutes. I liked it. Inoffensively drinkable. It is what it is. The BruRm brewpub is right next to the prestigious Yale University. It was kind of weird for me to see all these high class kids sitting in a pub at 4pm working on their laptops. I sat in front of one, opened my laptop, looked at him and said “I sank your battleship". Good times.

On tap at the BruRoom Brew Pub. Serviceable cascade lke pale. Golden yellow body with lace sheets down the glass. The aroma is hoppy, but also malts. The carbonation is right there. Good orange citrus flavour, good drinkability.

My Bottom Line:
Fruity yeast and hops scent this thin Pale Ale’s mild caramel malts, leading to light wooden hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam still laces atop the golden clarity.
-The nose is not appealing at all. Very low on hops, and there was some window cleaner (chemical) aspect as well.
-Carbonation was smooth and the body well rounded.

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at the BruRoom Brew Pub. Poured a deeper golden color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citurs, and a little earthy. Tastes follow suit. Light lacing left on the glass.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2007 This beer seemed too similar in style to the amber ale, which makes me wonder if this all this brewery’s beers taste more or less similar. This beer was relatively hoppy, and the hops had a planty/herby quality, but did not strike me as terribly high quality. This beer was also rather flat. It was ok, but not really good.

Porus a translucent golden amber with a medium creamy lacing off white head. Aroma of citrus, floral hop with some caramel. Flavor of fresh citrus hop flavor and a nice caramel malt balance. Nice tasting hoppy and slightly bitter pale ale.

Cask at the Connecticut Brew Fest. Hazy gold with a nice white head. Bready, soft citrus (grapefriuit) nose and flavor. Excellent.
