33cl bottle at home. Lovely black liquid with huge long lasting, beige to brown coloured collar. The aromas are very, very hoppy. Dark Sister is a smooth drinker and not that high in carbon, though medium bodied. The brew is highly hopped, but some clever malt flavours are added too. Think of hops, coffee, caramel and grain. The ending is long lasting, the bitterness is pleasant. Generally speaking, this brew certainly is not dull, yet it is somehow predictable. A taste that balances between dark and IPA, without real surprising features. It is like a dark strong ale, without the sugarness and highly hopped. But for sure, it is very lovely and tastfull.

mile (3404) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 28, 2015
Bottle. Dark amber, average to large and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light bread, light (milk)chocolate and faint hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and light bread, light notes of milk with light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel and faint bread, faint roastiness and light notes of (milk)chocolate, light - some hoppyness. Not really a BIPA. Nice head though.

Bottle. Pleasantly hoppy and not as heavy tasting as would be expected from the colour. Is exactly what it says on the bottle - black and an IPA!

ZodiacM (288) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 26, 2015
Een mooi donkerbruin bier met redelijke schuimkraag. Inderdaad meer Belgisch, deze black IPA, dus wat meer moutig en gistig qua geur en smaak. Lekker bitter en hoppig.

Dark bron with rich creamy beige head. Yeast and roasted caramel aroma. Moderate but soft bitterness mixed with mild roasted caramel with certain vanilla notes.

Bottle. Nose is yeasty, caramel, malts, milk chocolate, very little hops. Taste is malt, caramel, straw, pepper, citrus notes of blood orange and a little grapefruit which are not present in the nose, leading to a very dry slightly iron stout like finish. It’s a decent black IPA which is a way of saying not a great beer.
