3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Batch "T"? (On Cap)
Nice rich hazy amber and copper coloured body with a deep ruby and violet tint - very nice, all with a microfoamed two centimetre tall light brown head - great looking. Aroma of toasted malt, pit fruits, earth, caramel, candy and some noticeable stone fruits. Medium-bodied; Earthy malt up front with a lot of figs and prunes coupled with a noticeable hoppy element and some very minor sour yeast, almost brett-like flavours at the end. Aftertaste shows a touch of bitterness from the earthy malt, but a relatively sweet flavour and still complex from the sugars, malt and hop elements. Overall, a surprisingly nice beer (given some of the reviews here) that shows a bunch of complexity and some solid flavours throughout. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Delices et Caprices in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €2,80 sampled at home in Washington on 09-January-2014 right after booking the next trip to Belgium - next weekend!

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bought from the malting pot in Brussels. Overly powerful taste of cardamom and a bit too sweet for my taste but enjoyable.
More generally a great idea behind the Brussels beer project.

rood/bruin met zeer schuimige volle witte kraag
aroma: zeer hoppig en kruidig in de neus, citrus en graan
smaken: matig kandij suiker zoet, redelijk bittertje, sterk, matig gemout (geroosterde mouten), kardemom
medium body, glad textuur, kardemom is té nadrukkelijk aanwezig in het bier.

1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Absurdly towering dense ivory head, irrregular and leaving shards of lace over hazed orange-brown beer. Heavy, perfumed-spicy nose, the cardamom jumping out of the glass with the head. Dishwashing liquid with christmas herbs. Sharp bitterish spicy, very wry to astringent. Again the cardamom, but all its wry flavour dominating its aromatic vectors. Tannine-like. Really unpleasant mouthfeel, as drinking tea from horsechestnut or acorns. Medium body. Cardamom - as coriander - is a marvelous spice. In oriental food. NOT IN BEER.
