Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Feb 12, 2005 Bought this fall 2004 at LCBO. Hazy white with a thick creamy lacing white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and lemony coriander. Creamy mouthfeel, sweet and smooth. Notes of bananas and light spices, lacking in depth. OK white. Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Sep 23, 2004 Light cloudy yellow, white head sweet aroma wheaty aroma spiced coriander... creamy light palate mute sweet flavours.... piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 20, 2004 Hazy and golden, as one would expect from a witbier. Very phenolic nose. It had some odd sulfer aromas too, almost like a bad lager. It’s fruity (citrus) and full in the mouth, but I couldn’t detect any spices at all. A muddled interpretation of the style. DaSilky1 (1933), San Diego, California, USA Sep 1, 2004 poured what seemed to me a perfect wit color with that hazy white with subtle shades of green and a large, lacing white head...citrusy aroma (tangerine)...spritzy, yeasty, wheaty, & citrusy with solid spicing (white pepper & coriander...nice and full bodied...quite nice for the style, i would say...not that im a huge fan of the style. burcusabrews (106), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Aug 23, 2004 citrusy nose of lemon and cloves, mild hops and a trace of Brett. Pours cloudy yellow in a glass with a trace of a white head. Extremely clean flavors by no means over-the-top which I have found in many belgian wits. Flavors of banana and white chocolate. I would rank this with Ommegang’s Witte as the two best belgian wits that I have tried (although, I am not particularly fond of the style) OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 21, 2004 330 ml bottle. Hazy pale golden colour with a quickly diminsihing creamy white head. Light coriander and orange peel aroma, lemon notes, and a touch of bubble gum. Citrus disappears in the flavour, with banana and clove dominating. Slight bubblegum still present. Light to medium bodied and refreshing. Thanks Mr Kimchee. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Aug 16, 2004 This beer poured a cloudy pale yellow with a bright white foamy head. The first sniff noticed the usual yeast from a wheat beer. Slightly peppery with a hint of fruit. The first sip was watery and metallic. Sharp on the tongue. It had the usual yeastyness of most belgian beers. The finish was just of yeast and that was it. The palate was pretty much the same. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2004 Cloudy pale yellow. White head. Yeast aroma of banana, citrus, vanilla, wheat, & coriander. Light, soft, grainy feel. Sweet, yeasty of banana, citrus, peaches & cream, vanilla, wheat, & coriander. Dry, peppery finish.
