beanmedic (324), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Aug 2, 2004 pretty interesting. smelled a little off but tasted good. corriander really came through for me, i really enjoyed this one. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Aug 1, 2004 Smaple taken from 330ml green bottle. Cloudy pale yellow brew. Aroma was initially a little skunky, they I detected notes of honey. Thin head clings to the edges of the glass. Smooth and lightbodied. Initially sweet (honey and orange) it gives way to a dry finish. Seemed to be a lighter interpretation of the style. Refreshing. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Jul 15, 2004 Golden yellow w/fine white head. Light corriander, some metal, marshmallow, with light citrus lemon. Light on palate, slightly creamy, some sweetness and citrus, with a honey/vanilla quality. I enjoyed the delicateness of this very much. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2004 The aroma has some off fishy whiffs on top of your standard fruity wit aroma. Green bottle, hazy orange-yellow beer. Not bad, pretty refreshing on a 106-degree heat index day. Not too sweet, moderately tart, very citric. Finishes with greenish citrus. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2004 Hazy, light golden apearance. Fluffy white head, good thick lacing. Tangy aroma of fresh fruit but slightly fishy on the back end. Has a lemon-limey, spritzy flavor. Decent summer refresher. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA Jun 27, 2004 Poured a hazy pale yellow, firm white head. Incredibly skunky aroma, it was so skunky that it was smoky, like an off putting rauchbier smokiness. It was definitely not what a wit should smell like. Flavor (while plugging my nose) was actually pretty good, yeasty, a little spicy and some citrus. Lighter body and refreshing. I just couldn’t get past that aroma and could not finish it. If I get a chance to rerate I will. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Jun 26, 2004 Deeply hazy - not quite cloudy, though. Pale tan colour, limited white head. Aroma shows lemon, coriander, wheat and grapefruit. The flavour is very citrusy - orange, grapefruit and lemon could all easily be inferred. It is bordering on being overtly sweet, but thankfully doesn’t cross the line entirely. In fact, the citrusy notes go to another level, a little bit of yeast kicks in and this works to provide a quenching, off-dry finish. Light-bodied and refreshing - a beginner’s wit that still holds some interest due to the lack of any hoppiness and the overt, wide-ranging citrus character. radiomgb (1921), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 20, 2004 Pale yellow in colour with a thin white head. Aroma is quite spicy, yeasty and some skunk. Flavour of lemons, bananas, corriander, creamy. Medium body. Finish is a little harsh, smooth and dry.
