Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Chestnut brown with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is toffee, spice, bitter fruits, earthy notes. Taste comprises toffee, dark malts, dark fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, lacks any real depth or character for the ABV presented!

Deep amber with an off white head - Good caramel malt aroma - Good caramel malt body with a hint of bitterness in the back - The sweetness from the malt goes into a finish that lasts for a little while - This was quite good

Bottle. A clear, dark amber beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma has caramel, almost toffee, with some dried fruits and a faint roasted note. The flavor is pretty much the same, caramel, toffee, some dried fruits and a touch of roasted malts. Some faint bitterness. Full body and a soft carbonation level. Caramel and roasted malts in the finish. A pretty boring and un-complex one. 140301

jinroh (262) - ESTONIA - FEB 16, 2014
Pours dark mahogany red, almost with no foam at all. Aroma is relatively weak, has some acidity, bit of fruits and caramel candy. Taste is bitter and unbalanced. If you look hard you can feel some dark fruits in the body and yes, sweet caramelised sugar is also there and quite strong. Aftertaste is rough and bitter, far from being balanced. I wonder why this one is called winter beer only because it has stronger ABV? I would expect some spices, warmth - that is all missing.

stefannilssons (1300) - SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2014
Det här var inte så dumt, aromen avslöjade väldigt lite men smaken var fin och kraftfull med toner av trä, torkad frukt och malt. Kroppen är stabil och balansen är okej.

Appearance: Nutty brown color with a finger thick tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malty, mild vinous and fruity.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet, and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Malty, light spicy, mild roasty and a mild fruity background.
Overall impression: Will not buy again...
Personal stats: Bottle Dag had bought at Systembolaget, Sweden
